Important information about First Communion and Confirmation

With You Always – the sacraments of initiation

Jesus said… ‘know that I am with you always; yes, to the end of time.’ (Matthew 28:20)

Please pray for our children, who have been preparing since April, both in school and at home with their families, to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist for the first time in September.

If your child is due to start Year 4 in September and does not attend a Catholic school but is baptised Catholic and would like receive their first Holy Communion in summer 2022, please contact Eleanor in the office for an application form.

This year we are inviting parishioners to support an individual child by praying for them throughout the year, and they will pray for you. All you need to do is to pass your name to the parish office or to any member of our parish With You Always team: Fr Philip, Mrs Rigby, Miss Phillips, Catherine Turner, Christine Southworth, Helen Tedford, Lucy Woolfenden, Margaret Mary Osborne. You will then be given the name of a child to include in your prayers. Thank you.

If your child is in Year 8 or above and is yet to be Confirmed, Animate Youth have created 4 videos about Confirmation that can be accessed on YouTube at

When a young person has registered, your local confirmation co-ordinator will contact them. Working with the Clergy, the co-ordinator will take you through the next steps of  the preparation process. If you have any questions, please contact Fr Simon Gore at or on 01744 740467 or speak to your parish priest.
