A word from our Pastoral Associate Joanne Wallace

My eldest daughter seems to have developed green fingers during lockdown; she spurs me on in the garden to get things done and has been watching with wide-eyed wonder as the grass seed I put down begins to shoot and her lettuce seeds have started to grow into something we will able to eat soon.

So many of us has been able to enjoy more time in our gardens or enjoying nature during these last few months, so maybe it is fitting that this week’s gospel mentions sowing seeds!

I wonder what seeds have been sown in us during this time or in people who have (re)discovered their faith or felt a need for an understanding of the ‘bigger picture’ in life?

Through livestreamed Masses and online prayer resources provided by Pastoral Formation, people have found new ways to pray or reflect.
